Project Overview

The Department of Education (the department) is in the process of upgrading the Willoughby Girls High School to improves facilities and cater to the current and projected growth in the Willoughby local government area, as well as the broader North Sydney area.

The project involves:

  • the removal of demountable teaching spaces
  • a new three-storey building providing permanent future focused learning spaces
  • design to repurpose building B00C (maths block) for future use
  • provide a new multi-purpose sports court.

The project is due for completion in early 2020.

A Project Reference Group (PRG) was formed in early 2016 to commence the planning and design process. The PRG consists of members from the department, the school, and the Parents & Citizens (P&C) Association. Meetings have since been held on a monthly basis to ensure the proposed design considers the requirements of all users and meets education needs.

A preferred concept design has been developed and agreed upon by the PRG. The design meets all key drivers and maximises the potential use of the site.
